Swimming lessons fun part II

I've already told you about the waterfall in a previous post. So, on one day while we were at swimming lessons, we took the kids on the hike up to the waterfall again. (Yes, swimming lessons is only a mile from girls camp). Back to my story.....They had all sorts of fun wading & climbing up & down the waterfall.

They all had a blast! Lexis was disappointed cause I wouldn't let her climb up & down the waterfall like the big kids.
Fun summer, fun times!

Swimming lessons fun

So last week we had swimming lessons. We camped in the camper all week long. It was exhausting keeping up with such active kids yet it was so rewarding. The girls were all such good swimmers. They also had a great time playing with their cousins day in & day out.

As for me, I was able to actually read & finish a book! Yay for me! It's the first time in ages I've been able to just sit for a few minutes at a time & read. The long walks in the mornings were fabulous too!

More Camp.....

So another fun thing on Thursday afternoon was the little hike we took the girls on. A couple years ago Justin found a neat waterfall on a boy scout hike. It's been a favorite spot of ours ever since. We had so much fun wading & playing in the water. Of course we had to sit in the warmish water to have our day spa. It's actually a warm water from a spring. The biggest excitement was when my flip flop was ripped off my foot by the rushing water & everyone had to search for it. There was no way I was hiking out without a shoe on (such as it was) so Elian came to my rescue & dove into the most rapid part of the waterfall to rescue my shoe. At last I could hike out without being shoeless. Thanks Elian! :)

Girls Camp 2011

The month of July was an extremely busy one for our family. Eve & I went to Girls Camp for one of those weeks. It was fun as always. The girls are great. It always is a great bonding for the girls & leaders alike. The camp leaders were incredible. They spent so much time preparing things for camp. On Thursday we had a really fun day. We had all sorts of activities going on around us. I was able to rapell for the first time. It was really weird. I thought for sure I would be all shaky and scared going down but it was incredible! I loved it. The hardest part was trying to get the rope fed through to get started. After that it was a blast. I even turned upside down. I was able to go down the rock twice. I can't wait until I can do it again. The weird thing is....I'm usually a scaredy cat, but not this time. Not even shaky legs when I got down. Pretty awesome, or so I thought!

I think the girls all had a blast too! It's always a fun day at camp.
As you can see our trusty bolay man, a.k.a. Shane Williams was having a great time also. lol All in all camp was great!

~Thought for the Day~

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~Marianne Williamson~

Happy 1st Birthday, Lydia Jane!

Yay for Lydia! She's one year old! I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to have a photo shoot with this sweet little lady. I found out that she has a mind of her own. We didn't get a lot of smiles, but we got TONS of personality.

White Seamless

So, here I am after a long hiatus of not writing on the blog. It has been a busy, but long winter & springtime around here. Hopefully the cold, wet weather is behind us....(crossing fingers).

As you know, I love photography. I have played with different things over time and have come to a conclusion......I love White Seamless. Love it. An incredible tool for photographers. I was recently able to try my luck at some shots of our cousin Josh & my dear hubby Justin. They were great sports at allowing me to try out my photography skills on them.

This was a really fun time. I'm glad I can find people who will humor me while I learn a little about the thing I love.
