Even More YWIE

So, I saved the best post for last.....the food! It was absolutely incredible.

mmmm....dipped strawberries, dipped marshmallows, cotton candy, cupcakes with a crown, pixie stix, homemade strawberry oreos, chicken salad sandwiches. I could go on & on........

I think this was definitely a spread put on for royalty!

I always say I have such wonderful Young Women's leaders serving with me. With many hands we were able to have an incredible evening! One to always remember...

More YWIE

This post is of our decorations for our Young Women in Excellence program. Thought I'd let you take a peek to see the fun we had.

These are the crowns & wands we gave the girls.

The "Princess Mirror" they used to put their crowns on.

As the girls came through the door they were introduced one by one. They came through the archway, did a twirl, curtsy or whatever they wanted to be in the spotlight at the moment.

Young Women in Excellence

Last night we had our Young Women in Excellence program. Our theme was based on Pres. Uchtdorf's message from the YW broadcast, "Your Happily Ever After." We had the girls dress in their best Princess dresses (formals). They were all so incredibly beautiful. During the program they all got up & sang "Daughter of a King". It brought tears to my eyes. These girls truly are royal daughters of God. I hope each one of them realizes how wonderful they truly are. It was so much fun to get to pamper them & let them have a moment to shine.

Straw Maze

We all had a blast at the Straw Maze! Crue had so much fun with my kids. He loves them and they love him.

More Halloween

So, here's some pictures of our fun weekend:

.........and yes, that is a mohawk! I can't believe I did such a thing to my child. At least that was my thought after I made the first buzz across his head! At least it'll grow back. The kids at school were in awe. They all wanted to touch it. B.A. Baracus on the A-Team's got nothing up on him, that's for sure!

....and that is our beautiful & nifty fifties girl! Always a poser.

....and our super Minnie Mouse. She even painted her own whiskers!

....and then our cutest little cowgirl. This is her totally. She'd love nothing more than to ride off into the sunset on a horse!

Happy Halloween

Well this was a crazy busy weekend! It all started with Friday. On Friday morning I went to the school & made popcorn for popcorn Friday. I rushed home to make treats needed for the cake walk for the school carnival that afternoon. Lunch was shoveled in quickly. I then rushed back to the school to put on a party for the 5th grade class. They had lots of fun. We had them decorate cupcakes, play the wrap the mummy game with t.p. Mariah & her friends had made a list of games they were wanting to play, so she took charge & instructed them how to play.
Since this mom was a party pooper & didn't want to go to the carnival, I gave the kids the choice of the carnival, a movie, or the straw maze. They chose the straw maze. It was sooooo much fun! We went with my sister & her daughter, my mom, and my niece & her son. When we arrived, the maze didn't look very big, but once we got inside.......it went forever! We finally made our way through after about a million wrong turns. After making it out, we were able to go back through 3 more times. By the end, I could find my way out. The kids just loved running through & getting lost. After the corn maze, we went to Big Jud's & had some yummy HUGE burgers.
Sat. & Sun. we had stake conference. Since the Sat. night meeting is always the best one, we hated to miss it. Kyle & Brittany were wonderful enough to take our kids trick or treating for us. The kept them overnight for us & so on Sun. morning Justin & I went to Stake Conference alone. It was really weird to be able to sit still & take notes. I kinda missed the craziness of conference day. We were able to get great seats though with only 2 of us! The meetings were all soooooo good. They talked mostly on strengthening our families. Lots of great ideas were given. I especially liked the question we should ask ourselves when our children are wanting to do one thing & you don't know about it. It was...."Will this have an affect on his/her eternal progression?" I also like the thought of not wanting any empty chairs when we get to heaven. I hope all our chairs are full of our loved ones when we get there! The most important thing as we're all struggling through life is to remember that we grow stronger as we climb our own mountains. The challenges may come & go but they are all for our own good. They will help us, even if we can't see it at the moment.
